I was out of town this weekend, visiting Christ Our Hope, an REC parish in Westpoint, TN. I was hosted by Fr. Franklin Sanders and his wife Susan, who cooked up a very spicey vegetable-and-sausage dish for dinner. (I revealed my wimpiness in not being able to handle the heat of the peppers, but it was delicious!)
Christ Our Hope has a beautiful log sanctuary. Worship was a delight. After the service, I did my 25-minute presentation, and chatted with the parishioners, then went to lunch with Fr. and Mrs. Sanders. There were many kind comments and questions afterward. The only thing amiss was the absence of our good friends, Mark and Lara Butler, home with sick kids.
We pray that the Lord will grant us a long and productive relationship with this sister parish in our own diocese.
